Does your business really need a website? For my sake, I hope so, but there are still millions of small, local businesses that aren’t online at all, from lawn care business, to dog groomers, to Mary Kay sales reps. If their not online already, it’s a good bet that those business owners probably don’t have time to learn how to market their website online – and if no-one comes to your website, what’s the point in having one in the first place? Even amongst businesses that are online, there are millions more that aren’t happy with their current website or web presence, often because it’s either a) too hard to update it, or b) no one can find the website. They don’t have the time or ability to DIY, and aren’t about to shell out $1000s without guaranteed results.
Enter demandmart.com. If you don’t know how to get your business online, or if you are unhappy with your current website, but don’t want to spend a lot of money, then you are their target customer. You fill out a questionnaire about your business, you get a profile page, only this profile has some automated marketing intelligence built in, from appointment scheduling, to follow-up emails, and submission to navigation systems. Demandmart approached me to build SEO best practices into their automated platform.
My work:
- Build SEO best practices into the pages generated by demandmart.com
- Create microsites around various small business niches corresponding to demandmart’s targeted customers
- Find popular keyword phrases in those niches and commission articles on those topics.
- Identify a list of bloggers and sites in the small business niche for demandmart to reach out to
Here are screenshots of the microsite designs:
